Balance, Strength & Stretch Yoga: This safe and slower moving yoga class is designed for people who want to improve their balance. We work to increase range of motion and strengthen shoulders, arms, back, hips and legs; to develop better balance through a number of postures while building core and breath awareness. This gentle yoga balance practice will be done with a sequence of both sitting and standing postures, using a chair, wall and blocks as props. A yoga mat is required. The class ends with guided relation for an overall sense of well-being.

Barrelates Mix: Join us for this Barrelates based-class where we will explore a fun mix of styles from week to week including  ballet barre work, light weights, Pilates matwork, and yoga.

Chair Yoga: Chair Yoga is for everyone! Experience one of the most gentle forms of yoga available. Chair yoga is a unique yoga style that adapts yoga poses through creative use of a chair. Perfect for people who are looking for a safe, thorough practice that offers body strengthening while increasing flexibility and range of motion.

Core & More Fit: Lengthening, strengthening and toning the entire body with special attention to our power house -THE CORE! “Core” meaning more than just the abdominal muscles but the muscles that support the “core” or trunk of the body. Core strength enhances balance, mobility, coordination and stability, preventing falls and injuries in athletics and as we AGE! The perfect practice if you’re looking to improve posture, prevent back pain, and support the spine, and is a foundation-building class that will work every muscle through movement and breath.

Fitness Fusion: This class offers core and abdominal strengthening along with stretching and range of motion (ROM) exercises. Jumpstart your 2024 with this fun and accessible workout!

Flow and Let Go: Begin with mindful movement exploring slow flow sequences designed to generate a little bit of heat and to release excess energy. Then slow things way down with long-held cozy restorative poses where you’ll have the opportunity to tap into the healing potential of deep rest.

Functional Yoga: This gentle hatha yoga class focuses on ensuring we move in all directions to help improve our mobility. This class will always cover bending forward and backwards, twisting, reaching arms and legs, mild inversions, standing and balancing. Throughout the day we fall into routines that do not touch each of these functional areas, which limits our eventual mobility. Functional yoga includes movements and poses that are applicable to daily life activities and emphasizes the use of functional movement patterns that promote strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.

Gentle & Restorative: Enjoy the best of both worlds with Beyond Gentle &  Restorative. This class focuses on a very slow warm up which includes stretches and extremely gentle movements. The stretches help you connect with your breath as well as prepare your body to let go and relax in supported Restorative yoga poses. This practice allows the muscles to relax and release tension, as well as bringing the mind and body into balance.

Gentle Somatic Yoga®: incorporates slow, mindful movements that unwind long held, stress-based patterns and/or injuries. Therapeutic and corrective exercises called Somatic Movement Flows® erase chronic muscle pain and significantly increase flexibility though self-correction. GSY® is revolutionary in its ability to improve overall health, well-being, and personal performance.

Gentle Yoga: This is a softer, more gently paced class that is meant to cultivate an internal meditative experience while stretching and recharging the body.  Gentle yoga is less strenuous and best for beginners, or those looking for a calm class that incorporates breathing, postures and movement.  A great place to start if you are new to yoga!

Gentle Yoga Flow with Meditation: Yoga flow, also known as Vinyasa Yoga, is a creative form of yoga in which poses are linked together with the breath in a flowing sequence designed to stimulate energy and increase vitality. The Gentle Flow & Meditation class includes a dedicated period of guided meditation to close the practice.

Gentle Yoga with Nidra: This Hatha-based gentle yoga class is a wonderful way to ease into your evening and pave the way for a better night’s sleep. This is a softer, more gentle, and slower paced class that is meant to cultivate an internal meditative experience while stretching and recharging the body. This form of yoga is less strenuous and best for beginners or those looking for a calm class. Each class will be completed with the practice of Yoga Nidra. Considered one of the deepest states of rest, this accessible practice is experienced in a laying position where you will be guided through a specific systematic method to bring your body and mind to a calmer physical, mental, and emotional state.

Guided Relaxation & Crystal Bowl Sound Bath: This class begins with a guided relaxation followed by a sound bath using the crystal bowls with a period of silence to integrate your experience. You will be invited to make use yoga props such as blankets and bolsters to create a supportive position where you can rest and release stress and tension. Please dress warmly and bring any extra supports you like to feel comfortable. No previous experience needed.  All welcome. A crystal bowl sound bath harnesses the reverberating sounds and vibrations of crystal bowls to lull you into a deeper state of rest and relaxation, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and our rest and digest response.

Tight hips are a symptom of our desk-bound modern life. This fitness based class will work on the poses that help to loosen the hips, improve range of motion and circulation, increase mobility, stability and flexibility and may help to alleviate knee and low back pain.

Hatha & Meditation: Create a mind-body connection by exploring mindfulness through yoga postures, breath work and guided meditation practices.

Nia: Nia offers a holistic fusion of dance, martial arts, and healing arts to create an effective, fun and transformational workout for body, mind, emotions and spirit that will leave you smiling while you sweat.

Pilates: Our mat Pilates class will teach you to use your body more efficiently and target key structures that support your core during work or play.  Pilates uses controlled movements, proper alignment and breathing to strengthen all core muscles. All levels welcome!

Pilates Fusion: Our mat Pilates class with an added focus on strength training. This class will incorporate the use of light hand weights. Expect to increase strength, flexibility and awareness of body movement through this practice.

Qigong Flow: Qigong Flow focuses on the cultivation of vital life force energy (Qi) through body-based awareness to enhance our health and wellness. Qigong Flow classes include breathwork, exercises to stretch and open the joints, muscles, and tendons, as well as circulating exercises in which we link together patterned movements. These patterned movements are a type of moving meditation with the intention to move the energy (Qi) into every part of our body. This style of Qigong draws upon both external movements to cultivate Qi and internal practices like meditation with the aim to bring us into balance, health and harmony with nature and the world around us. You can expect to spend most of the class in a standing position.  Modifications are provided for those who would like to use a chair for all or part of the class. You will require a yoga mat.  Please dress comfortably.

Restore and Align: We begin with the breath, always, the very basis of our yoga practice. We will then focus on strengthening the respiratory system and the deep core muscles. The legs and lower back will feel so wonderfully stretched and strengthened. To finish this practice there will be chanting and meditation. This class is accessible to everyone. Please note hands-on adjustments are offered in this class. Props: Yoga mat, stretch band, yoga strap, belt or scarf, bolsters or cushions, blocks and blankets.

Restorative Yoga: Join us for this amazing class that will slowly move your body into full relaxation while being completely supported by props such as blankets and bolsters.   This class is deeply nurturing and all are welcome.

Yin & Meditation: A series of Yin Yoga postures followed by a period of guided meditation. Release tension be present and enjoy this calming yoga class! Yin and Meditation together allow time for reflection, release and re-energizing of the body while quieting the mind.  This is a gentle, mindful practice. All levels welcome.

Yin Yoga: A Yin practice works deep connective tissues and increases energy flow in the body, releasing any energetic blockages. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes. Props are used to aid in physical release of tension without adding undue stress to the body. All levels welcome.

Yoga Core: This class is a balanced blend of yoga, strength, and conditioning exercises, combined to create a practice that explores and enhances core stability. Strengthen and tone while mindfully building a foundation to support every day movement, balance, and posture.
Finish each practice with longer held passive stretches designed to release tension and restore body and mind. Suitable for all levels of practitioners.

Yoga For Hips & Core: This Hatha Yoga based class highlights a focus on building strength and awareness in the core and hips. Salutations, breath awareness, and strength building exercises will provide participants with options to explore and challenge at their own pace. This class is best suited for those who are familiar with the postures and seeking a moderate to vigorous practice.

Yogalates: This is an amazing blend of yoga and Pilates inspired mat work that will move, strengthen and stretch your entire body. Work on core stability, posture, and flexibility while incorporating the roots of a traditional Hatha yoga practice.

Yoga Nidra: Great for those who struggle with meditation, this accessible practice is experienced in a laying position where you will be guided through a specific systematic method to bring your body and mind to a calmer physical, mental, and emotional state.

Zumba Gold: Zumba is a fitness program that involves cardio and Latin-inspired dance. Zumba Gold is a modified Zumba class for active adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-impact and intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Please make sure you bring non-marking indoor shoes for this class.  A water bottle and small towel are also a good idea.

Hatha and Yoga Flow classes may be assigned recommended experience levels to help you find the class that meets your needs, and to support your ongoing growth and development.

All of our Gentle Yoga classes are a great place to start and open to all.

Level 1: Suitable for the experienced beginner, i.e. 3 to 6 months of regular practice.

Level 2: Suitable for the intermediate student, pace of the class may be quicker, presumes a mastery of the basics.

Level 3: Suitable for the advanced student. The pace of this class may be quicker.  Presumes a mastery of the basics, and readiness to build into complex postures and variations. May include inversions and arm balances. Previous experience is essential.
