Why Yoga for Runners
Running is experiencing a resurgence in popularity and race participation is growing especially in the 50+ age group….And they all need yoga. This training will help you confidently teach classes specifically designed for runners. This allows you to grow your expertise, your student base and your income. You will be able to design and lead a series of classes to help runners prevent common running injuries, improve running-specific mobility, get faster and increase longevity in the sport they love.

What you will learn:
• How to create a balanced and accessible vinyasa yoga class with an anatomical focus
• Considerations for limited mobility, flexibility and injuries
• Yoga poses to help prevent common running injuries and address muscular imbalances
• Yoga for core strength for unique to runners
• How and when to include breathwork for runners to increase lung capacity and focus
• How to teach beginner and experienced yoga students in the same class
• How to use props to modify poses making them more accessible for tight running muscles
• Business of Yoga: How to market Yoga for Runners to build your student base and your business

This training includes:
• Interactive presentation of the subject
• Group work to create sequences
• Yoga practice
• Come to this training ready to learn and to teach

Prerequisites:
• A 200-hour yoga teacher training certification
• You must attend both days of the training to receive the certification


 

About Donna Davis
Donna Davis is one of the yoga pioneers in the athletic community, teaching 1,000s of students over the last 20+ years through her yoga studio, workshops and retreats. Donna is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, a life-long runner and the host and producer of Yoga for Runners on Rogers TV. She is an expert at breaking down postures and sequences making yoga accessible for runners.
She first completed her 200-hour training with Yogi Vishvketu in 2004. Over the years has added in countless advanced trainings including breathwork, philosophy and anatomy. She completed her 300-hour in advanced training in 2021 with the renowned teacher Beryl Bender, Power Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga pioneer.
Donna brings lightness, fun and a depth of knowledge to all her trainings.
